- The edit functions in Publisher are similar to those in
Word.

- To switch between the background and foreground of a
publication, Click on View and select either Go to Foreground

matches the background.
- To zoom in or out, click on View and then Zoom. Select
the desired magnification.
Insert
- If you want to draw your own picture for your
publication, click on the Insert, then Picture and then New

(Same as Word) and also allows you to insert Word.

Format, Choose Border style and then click on More Style.
Finally click on Create Custom border and publisher will
prompt you to choose a picture for your border.
- For a fancy first letter, use the Format menu to put in a
dropped capital. There are a number of styles available or
you can design your own using the custom option.
Tools
- When you have completed a publication, use the style
checker to ensure that your style throughout the publication
is consistent.
Table
- Table works the same way it does in word. An added
advantage is that you can add Diagonals to the cells. To do
this simply highlight the cells and then go to Table and
select Cell diagonals.
- To put a background on a table, select the cells
concerned and then right hand mouse click over the table. Go
to Change Table and then select Fill Color. From there you
can select a colour or Fill Effect.
- To delete the text in a table, highlight the text, right
hand click and choose the Delete Text option.
- To fill text either horizontally or vertically, highlight
the cells concerned, right hand mouse click, Choose Change
Text and then Fill Down or Fill Right.
Arrange
- If you place objects on top of each other, use the
Arrange menu to get the desired object on top of the pile.
This is a handy tool if you are creating a collage.
